Robyn Hood

With the farm since: Founder in 1976

Area of expertise: TTEAM instructor, Robyn travels all over the world teaching clinics, edits TTEAM Connections and CIHF newsletter and always brings new ideas to the farm.

Hobbies: skiing, snorkeling & reading

Favorite vacation spot: At home on the back of an Icelandic

Can best be reached: Spends too much time working in the office


Phil Pretty

With the farm since: Founder in 1976

Area of expertise: Fence fixing, pasture vacuuming, farm maintenance and most importantly, feeding the horses. A trained farrier, with the back to prove it. He also does the bookkeeping and often answers the phone in the office. Phil is also a great lunch chef during workshops and on the board of directors of the Canadian Icelandic Horse Federation, being in charge of the newsletter.

Hobbies: reading, would like to have a chance to golf, an avid golf-thinker-abouter

Favorite vacation spot:

Can best be found: Anywhere on the farm, probably with his bird on his shoulder


Christine Schwartz

With the farm since: 1979

Area of expertise: Taking care and keeping track of the horses, riding, starting young horses, helping at clinics and in the office

Hobbies: writing, going out to dinner, puttering at home

Favorite vacation spot: Alaska or Hawaii in spirit, anywhere where there is an Icelandic horse event in reality.

Can best be found: on the back of a horse.


Mandy Pretty

With the farm since: Born, bred and raised on horseback since 1982

Areas of expertise: Keeping everything tidy, keeping everybody in line and riding, riding, riding

Hobbies: Attends University of Victoria, likes to read, snowboard, play soccer and spend time with her friends

Favorite vacation spot: Whistler and Hawaii

Can best be found: Probably in the tack room, cleaning up.


Jesse Pretty

Also on farm since birth. Very empathetic with animals but never got the riding “bug”.

Areas of expertise: Sorting out computer glitches, moving irrigation, fence repair, harrowing.

Hobbies: Skateboarding, snowboarding listening to alternative music and going to concerts.

Favorite vacation spot: A Warp Music Tour.

Can best be found: Downloading music on the computer.
